Fishing for Trout it’s always a challenge.

Only a week to go before I head off to N.Z. again for a short guide : Lake Brunner first for Brown Trout sight fishing and hopefully some Cicada action . Finishing off with some Salmon fishing on the Rakaia river.

The fishing in the Snowies is the toughest I have had for a long time but in the last week or so it appears to of improved greatly with some evening hatches and the more suitable weather patterns I know it is still Feb but surly the heat wave conditions are gone for good. There hasn’t been a lot of mudeye activity yet but the fish are taking small mudeye patterns as well as small Nymphs around size 14s very strange for this time of year but I must admit nothing surprizes me about the Trout feeding habits this year just think outside the box .
